Professor Alistair Darby

Professor Alistair Darby is a Deputy Director for COG-UK and Principal Investigator for the University of Liverpool and is Co-Director of the Centre for Genomic Research at Liverpool and has over 15 years’ experience as an applied entomologist. His main area of research is microbial and host interactions which covers his interest in arthropod symbiosis, pathogens and microbiomes. Professor Darby has extensive experience in designing and analysing genomic and RNA sequencing data, including arthropod genomes and a new high quality version of the Diamondback moth genome sequence. His research also uses single cell genomics and his is the lead for the CGR single cell genomics facility.
