Dr JT McCrone is a postdoc in the Rambaut Group at the University of Edinburgh Institute of Evolutionary Biology. His current work leverages classic approaches to make large-scale phylodynamic analysis of SARS-CoV-2 computationally tractable. Prior to the pandemic he studied how the forces that drive virus evolution during acute infections affect evolutionary dynamics at larger scales.
