Dr Angela Lackenby

Dr Angela Lackenby is a COG-UK Principal Investigator at Public Health England (PHE). She is a Clinical Scientist at PHE and has worked in the National Influenza Centre (NIC) UK since 2005. She is currently responsible for the molecular section, delivering antiviral susceptibility and genetic characterisation of influenza viruses. She established influenza antiviral susceptibility surveillance in the NIC and has worked with the European Influenza Surveillance Network (EISN) to expand surveillance capability across Europe. Her work with EISN and Dr Olav Hungnes led to the identification in 2007/8 of oseltamivir resistant A(H1N1) virus in Norway.
