The University of Edinburgh is a core academic partner of the COG-UK consortium. The University is leading the GenOMICC study in partnership with Genomics England, Illumina and the NHS, which is analysing the whole genome sequences of approximately 20,000 people who have been severely affected by COVID-19. The genomes will be analysed with the aim of understanding how a person’s genetics may influence their susceptibility to the virus. This data, from the person’s own genome, will be linked to the virus genome data provided via COG-UK.
