The University of Birmingham is a core academic partner of the COG-UK consortium. Researchers at the University of Birmingham have contributed to the consortium in a number of ways, including the Cloud Infrastructure for Microbial Bioinformatics (CLIMB) database and ARTIC project. Based in Birmingham and Cardiff, CLIMB has proved pivotal to the consortium in providing computing infrastructure and bioinformatics analysis capability.
